Our Favorite Light Sources
For the following designers, their favorite light source is less about the exact lamp being used and more about the particular scene that the light source can create.

This is a photo I took during my visit to the Glenstone Museum in Maryland. It was the moment when I walked into the Cafe that I saw the reflection from the glass extend the interior to the exterior, blending the built environment to the natural environment. It was a hot summer day, I could barely walk around outside, but it was that particular moment that made me truly appreciate the beauty of light, and its effect on any project, which can be very different for everyone.

It’s the entrance light. The entrance light not only works like a sign that points you to the entrance, but also creates a foyer/zone of light. In the city, it washes you with light while walking on the sidewalk. In hospitality, it’s the first indication of the scene.
